Praise the Lord

Isn’t life beautiful? I know I don’t blog on here often, rarely would be a better description. I do feel the need to every once in a while though. Today I just wanted to talk about how wonderful life can be. My life has been full of many trials and heartache over the years. I don’t however consider myself unfortunate, there are many who have gone through much worse than me. My main point is how incredibly fast life can turn itself around. It seems that when life is at its darkest, fortune is just around the corner if people would only keep their faith.

Today as every day I would like to thank the Lord for all the blessings in my life.

Christian chain spam

I received this email from a loved one recently. While I appreciate the message this is really an amazing monument to Jesus I'm not sure I care for the message at the end. I am not a fan of chain spam as it is. You know the ones that say send this to 10 people and Bill Gates will show up at your house in five minutes with a million dollars wrapped in a bow, or some other ludicrous claim. They are harmless yet annoying. This one however I found particularly offensive.

You have to see these pictures. I would love to see it in person. This is
about 70 miles from Amarillo outside of town called Groom, TX .
(This must have been an awesome labor of love.)
Read message at the end of pictures!
These are the pictures of the crucifixion of Christ
Sculptured from metal by a man near Amarillo, TX ...
The crosses are made of metal also. The man did
this out of the kindness of his heart.
Someone donated the land
On which to erect them.
Who is Jesus?
HE IS JESUS
WHO IS HE?

If you believe in God and in Jesus
Christ His Son .. Send this to all on
Your buddy list.
If not just ignore it.
If you ignore it, just remember that Jesus said.
'If you deny me before man, I will deny you
before my Father in Heaven.
You must send them to 8 people.
In 8 minutes you will receive something you have
long awaited.

First let me reiterate that I do have faith I do believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I also believe the only way to heaven is through him. I just find it offensive when an email tells me that I am denying my Lord by not forwarding some chain email. I think it is kind of funny that these goofy threats at the end of chain spam have evolved to the point of threatening hell.Such a great message to send to our fellow man believer or not.

The unfortunate part is that the story and pictures are great. The statues at Cross Ministries must be absolutely amazing. The pictures in the email don't begin to show just how immense that big cross is. Check Cross Ministries for a better view. I would love to see these one day. I wonder if rather than continue this chain with offensive babble could we say something like "Wow what a glorious thing, why not let your friends know about this wonderful tribute to our glorious Lord Jesus." Better yet leave "If you believe in God and in Jesus Christ His Son .. Send this to all on Your buddy list" and leave it at that. I don't know I'm not great at writing letters. I don't like chain mail. I just feel the message would be better served with something positive instead of threats.

Thanks for reading my rant and God Bless,
Jim

I Know Christian Jim has been Awol just a quick note on Heath Ledger

I just wanted to say a few things about the tragic death of Heath Ledger. First there has been quite a bit of speculation about what may have caused his death, to me it all seems to be just that speculation and ultimately is none of the publics business. The so called "news" outlets seem to want to drag him through the mud and say this or that glorying in the untimely death of a talented young man. I myself have seen very few of the movies he starred in, the main one I recall being the patriot.

None of these things really matter, it comes down to this Heath Ledger died young, his daughter is left fatherless and no matter what the cause it is a tragedy. I myself have done the one thing that matters instead of speculating or judging I have prayed that our Lord will watch over his family and friends through this most difficult of trials, I ask that anyone reading this be compelled to do the same.

One more thing I pray that someone puts a stop to the Westboro Baptist Church who have stated there intentions to protest Ledgers funeral. I try not to judge and I try to be forgiving however the nutcases of the Westboro Baptist Church are truly an abomination. The hate spewed by these lunatics is about as foul as it gets. The worst part is they see nothing wrong with it. They claim to be Christian.

It is sad that an observer might lump them in with true Christians whose faith in Jesus Christ has saved us from our sin. We know we are all sinners and that there is only one who walked the earth who was perfect. Therefore the only one who may judge is our most Blessed and Heavenly Father. So even though it pains me a bit I pray for Westboro Baptist Church too. Only God can battle the evil that is deep in the souls of these vile people.

I will not put a link to the WBC website on my blog I refuse to be linked to them. If you don't know about them they are the people who protest soldiers funerals and claim that "God hates fags" a statement that disgusts me to even type here. Maybe I shouldn't but, just to clarify my point of view on this ,not that it means anything, I feel homosexuals are no more or less sinners than anyone else, we are all sinners and that is between as and the Lord. Thanks to the sacrifice made by Jesus we all have a shot at Heaven.

In closing I would just like to thank you for reading and thank God for all the blessings in my life and ask the Lord to keep Heath Ledger's family safe in his Almighty hands and to help them weather this storm.

Memorial Day

the start of summer, a great three day weekend of grilling and partying with family and friends. Is that really what it's about? It is wonderful to spend some time with loved ones anytime you can, but I think everyone needs to take some time to thank the men and women who made it all possible and their families who no longer can spend time with them. Please on this Memorial day say thanks to the Lord for all those who have sacrificed for our freedom, for their families. Pray for the ones who are fighting now to be safely returned home to be with family and friends.

Please watch the following video it"s pretty powerful, there are more at

Flixya

Thank you to all who have served and to the families of those who have served. The sacrifices that were made will not be forgotten. God Bless.

Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends

Praise Jesus He is Risen

Matthew 27:50-53
And when had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.(NIV)

Today is the day we celebrate the Resurrection of our precious lord the . Really I think we celebrate our salvation every day or we should, but today is a great day to spend time with our loved ones and honor the selfless acts of our wonderful Lord. Some may argue about the date, there is no point in that. The lord is pleased when we him.

Here are some I like:

Matthew 28:1-10

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."
(NIV)

John 11:25-26 (King James Version)

25Jesus said unto her, I am the , and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

26And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

A quick note from Christian Jim about Britney Spears and Anna Nicole Smith

I just want to say that all of this publicity about is going way too far. No matter what you may think of how provocative her videos and actions may have been. This girl needs help and Prayer not these paparazzi in her face making it worse. I for one will spare a moment in my prayer to add Britney Spears and and their family also.

Now I realize this may not be of huge importance to the Christian community, but when we see a soul in trouble is it not our duty to ask the lord to help that individual?

Thanks and GOD Bless!

There is only one true way to make it through times like that. Through our Faith in our Heavenly Father and his Son who died so that we might live Jesus. Praise be to our Lord and savior Jesus. Sylvester Stallone Christian or What?

"There's a point where the body stops and inner strength begins. It really begins from the soul - from God." Sylvester Stallone

I know for some this may be old news. I still think it is pretty interesting. I am impressed that some celebrities are now finally openly discussing their faith. This outlet can have the power to bring many more to see the glory of our God.

I do believe that some of Hollywood is bearing false witness as a marketing ploy, but when it come to Stallone I believe he has been touched by Christ's glory and has found his faith again.

Rocky Balboa's Sylvester Stallone talks about his faith

What do you think?

If you look at the Rocky franchise there really is a positive message of faith. Some leaders have even started using the films as teaching tools.

MERRY CHRISTMAS To all !

The following is a copy of an email that has been going around it it Ben Steins commentary about Christmas and the holidays. I am sure most of you have seen it but it is worth seeing again. To anyone who is offended by this please realize that speaking for myself saying Merry Christmas to someone should never be deemed an insult. When I say MERRY CHRISTMAS it is meant as a wish of good cheer for a holiday that means the world to me, the birth of Jesus. I will not, nor should anyone ever feel guilty for wishing good tidings to someone. If someone wished me Happy Hanukkah I would be happy thank them and wish them a Merry Christmas. If hearing Merry Christmas bothers anyone get over it.

Now on to Mr. Steins comments he says it much better than I can.

Herewith at this happy time of year, a few confessions from my beating heart:

I have no freaking clue who Nick and Jessica are. I see them on the cover of People and Us constantly when I am buying my dog biscuits and kitty litter. I often ask the checkers at the grocery stores. They never know who Nick and Jessica are either. Who are they? Will it change my life if I know who they are and why they have broken up? Why are they so important? I don't know who Lindsay Lohan is, either, and I do not care at all about Tom Cruise's wife.

Am I going to be called before a Senate committee and asked if I am a subversive? Maybe, but I just have no clue who Nick and Jessica are. Is this what it means to be no longer young. It's not so bad.

Next confession: I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees Christmas trees. I don't feel threatened. I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are: Christmas trees. It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, "Merry Christmas" to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu. If people want a creche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship Nick and Jessica and we aren't allowed to worship God as we understand Him?

I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where Nick and Jessica came from and where the America
we knew went to.

By the way if you doubt the validity of this check it here

Persecution all over the world for

India: Hindu Villagers Beat, Expel Christian Families

This is a great example of the direction of today's world. Our faith has brought us through this before and will indeed again. The enemy gets stronger everyday though. The faith and dedication to the lord in the face of such persecution by these two families and the others all over the world should be seen as an inspiration.

Please ask the lord to be with these families and the other persecuted Christians in this world.

I feel Christianity should unite we all need to get past the little arguments over denomination whose Lutheran, Methodist, Catholic or any other denomination, does it really matter? We all play for the same team. Now is the time for unity in the Christian community. The enemy gets stronger everyday we need all the resources we can muster to battle his influences in this world.

Put on the full armour of your God. Get the word out to your friends and family that are not saved of his glorious gifts. I don't mean belittle or pressure people, let them know about the benefits, let them see his glory. Let them know that through Christs selfless acts we all have the opportunity to be saved. Once given this information let them work it out with themselves and the Lord, answer any questions they may have, realize it has to be a decision a person comes to on their own. We are all sinners that can all unite to make this world and the next a better place.

Romans 8:31-39
What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: " For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Thanks for reading and God bless!
